Let me tell you something. I am toast, I am done, I don't know how much more of this I can take. I am in the midst of the first part of the application process for medical school. It has been a long road with a giant freekin mountain left to climb. I can mow understand why people decide to not go for it as you get closer and closer to application time. There are so many hoops you have to jump through just to get in and they seem to get smaller and smaller the farther along you go making them more and more difficult to get through.
5/22/06 As of today I think that I am done with physics forever, so please do ask me to tell you which way a wave is propagating, or how much current is charged in a mess load of capacitors, because frankly I don't give a rat's ass about any of it...Oh dear MCAT gods if you are looking down on me please for the love of God let me not have to take it again. I want to be done with physics.......
I have a history final tomorrow covering the beginnings of the indo gangetic, Chinese and Japanese cultures..... So there is a religious movement called the Bhakti which is the path to enlightenment through the love of god. Krishna, one of the many personified forms of the Brahman, is a cowherd, who has a group of cowherd girls (called the gopis) who follow him around, are in love with him, etc. Now the term gopis (go-Pees) is very close to groupie (grew-Pee) and I am wondering if this is where the term evolved from. Krishna, as a cowherd, was also apparently a musician who is often depicted playing a bamboo flute. This makes sense to me...and yes I am king of the dorks...I do not need to be reminded of that.
....and oh yes...the dreaded orgo 2 final makes in appearance on thursday....
Then there is all the other crap that is happening everywhere else in the world. I fear for the future.
So I ask again, why the hell can't hollywood do anything original anymore....The Omen, Posiden, next thing you know they'll remake the classic 70's disaster of a movie"Avalanche", oh wait they made a bazillion other movies already named avalanche one with David Hasselhoff, and one with C. Thomas Howell, a few in the 30's, one from the 20's. So maybe they've tapped that market enough already. Funny side note is that my great uncle was in the avalanche movie from the 70's. What is going to be really creepy, or crappy depending on ones view of the world is when they decide to remake all of those Ah-nold and sly stallone films from the 80's. Can you even begin to imagine "Commando" with the Rock and Dakota Fanning....or say First Blood with, well, Sly Stallone again.....Man that is going to suck.
I highly recommend "The Cooler" to everyone...really decent indie flick with Bill Macy, Alec Baldwin, and Maria Bello.....good stuff....
The wife and I are in the midst of watching season two of The West Wing. Seriously wonderful show....it makes me sad to watch it though because, well, let's just say that it is nice to see a leader of the United States who is well, not dumb....what is even worse is that it is entirely fictional....ok rambling...time to go....
maybe I'll see ya'll in a month or so.
