Post 85

Music is a powerful thing. There are certain themes from music that make you think about this world that we inhabit. It can draw immense sadness and utter joy from your soul. Too often it reminds us of people who have passed away, but it also reminds us of times that make smiles creep up on our faces. I don't know how or why it works but it does. Generally speaking these are movie themes for me. They never really make me think of scenes from the movie but rather they make me think mostly of the past....as yoda would say...old friends long gone...yadda yadda yadda...

I opened a fortune cookie the other day that proclaimed "you believe in the goodness of mankind"....uh....yeah....
feelin' fine

QUOTEOFTHEDAY

"...it leads people to believe that all they need is a purple finger and life will get better. The president seems a victim of that same delusion: he seems to believe that we can get away with promoting democracy through glorious rhetoric without doing the slow, expensive, heavy lifting of nation building."

From "Democracy, the Morning After" by Joel Klein (Regarding the Palestinians recent election.)

School good.
Grades ok...no deans list...missed it by .025, but certainly acceptable.

Tomorrow I may return for some more interesting nonsense in the world of me.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

You sit and read your books all day
But there's more to life than what's on the page
The sun will rise again that's true
But the same can't be said of you

Computer screen on and noise in your ears
Too busy to see your son's own tears
A small pain that will soon fade away
But the pain in his heart will remain

(a song in progress)...
